    Saint Laurent

    The House

    History

Founded in 1961 by one of the most talented couturiers of the 20th century, Saint Laurent is one of the most prominent fashion houses in the world. Yves Saint Laurent aimed to create clothes that would set women free, borrowing elements from classic menswear like the iconic smoking or saharienne. In 1966, the designer revolutionized the industry with the first luxury ready-to-wear line, Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, offering a new elegance that conveyed youth and power. This vision was further amplified through the brand’s bold imagery, including campaigns shot by Helmut Newton and Robert Mapplethorpe, which shaped fashion history. Today, Saint Laurent has over 300 stores around the world.

    Creative vision

Since his appointment as Creative Director in 2016, Anthony Vaccarello upholds Yves Saint Laurent’s creative legacy with irreverent modernity. Across his tenure, he has steadily reinforced the House’s identity with coherence and authority, mixing genres, bringing a cinematographic dimension to the silhouettes, and empowering a highly desirable vision. Every season, Vaccarello’s Men’s and Women’s collections are a demonstration of the incredible savoir-faire of the House and as well as a sophisticated tribute to Parisian attitude.
