The House

    History

A symbol of quintessential Italian luxury, Gucci was founded in 1921, when Guccio Gucci opened his first store in Florence. His visionary creativity and passion for Italian craftsmanship paved the way for a revolutionary style, blending traditional aristocratic codes with dolce vita flair. The House soon became a global reference for high-quality leather goods, with items such as the Horsebit 1953 loafer, the Jackie 1961 handbag and the Bamboo 1947 line becoming instant classics. Since then, Gucci has built an enduring legacy, cemented by its iconic creative directors, culminating in Demna’s contemporary vision for the brand.

    Creative Vision

The year 2025 marks a new chapter for Gucci. After 10 years redefining modern luxury at Balenciaga, Demna was named Artistic Director of Gucci, leading the House towards renewed fashion authority and enduring cultural relevance. Marking a return to storytelling, going back to the future by way of the past, Demna’s vision for Gucci revitalizes the brand’s legacy through a strong aesthetic language.
